Keeping Water Affordable: Fresno’s New Water Affordability Credit Program
The City of Fresno provides financial assistance for customers having difficulty paying for water service. The City of Fresno Water Affordability Credit Program (ACP) provides a credit to accountholders based on demonstrated financial need. To qualify for the ACP, accountholders can submit documentation that they qualify for PG&E’s California Alternate Rates for Energy (“CARE”) Program or one of Fresno County’s human services programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (“SNAP”), the Women, Infants, and Children (“WIC”) Program, the National School Lunch Program (“NSLP”), or the Medi-Cal Program. If an individual qualifies for one of the programs listed above that are administered by PG&E or Fresno County, using the same name and address as on the individual’s utility account with the City, the individual could submit an application to receive the City’s Water ACP.
